We grow a range of certified organic grains on our farm, including spelt, corn, rye, wheat, barley, oats and peas. The majority of the grain we produce is for feed for our pigs and chickens. We are no longer producing flour for public sale.
Spelt is an ancient grain that has baking qualities very similar to wheat but with a nuttier flavour (or maybe that just reflects the personality of the grower coming through – some new form of terroir). Some people with a sensitivity to wheat are able to tolerate baked goods made from spelt.
